What Makes Us Special
Find out what the children, parents and staff value about Holland.
What the Children say makes Holland special:
We have a good School Council. That means we get lots of things done to make the school better. We like being able to make changes and feel empowered. We get to speak on behalf of all our friends.
We like our teachers. In learning the teachers try as hard as they can to make the lessons fun for the children. They also motivate each other to do well and they respect everyone’s opinions.
We support lots of different charities and have special days in school where we get to do different things.
We all feel like one big team.
Holland Junior School is a fantastic school. I have so many fantastic memories here that I will treasure throughout my life.
At Holland learning is key and helps us develop our skills in different subjects.
In my opinion, Holland school is amazing! I have made so many friends and I love the way in which I’m getting an education.
We are lucky to have a magnificent outdoor area which brings a unique element to the school; this includes a pond area, two playgrounds, a large field, an outdoor gym and a sensory garden.
What parents say that makes Holland special:
Thank you for being such a lovely school. My son is very happy and his confidence levels have soared.
Really delighted with the care and education that Holland provides for our children.
The teaching is very good.
I like the fact that Miss Robertson stands outside the school in the morning to welcome the children in whatever the weather. Thank you. Holland is a great school.
The office staff are always welcoming and helpful. It makes such a difference.
The weekly newsletter is a good way of communicating.
It's been great offering so many clubs after school for free. Even the sports clubs are very reasonably priced.
Keep doing what you’re doing!
What the staff say that makes Holland special:
At Holland, the staff and children alike are kind, caring and warm. There is a real sense of community here. As teachers at Holland Junior, we are very proud of our school - we work hard to provide a host of exciting learning opportunities, in and out of the classroom, which helps to inspire and motivate the children to reach further, aim higher and truly 'be the best we can be.
Our school has caring adults and children who know how far a smile goes. At Holland children always try their best and thrive on challenge.
It is a huge pleasure to work at Holland Junior School and have the opportunity to witness young people as they grow in confidence and become more independent.
When I qualified as a teacher, I wanted to work in a school where every child was valued as an individual; allowed to contribute their ideas to their learning experience and was encouraged and supported to ‘ be the best that they could be’ : that is why I work at Holland Junior School. Yes, we care about pupil results academically but we are very keen on developing the whole child.
I value that we are a small school, with committed members of staff all wanting to get the best out of each child. It really is like looking out for your family.
At Holland, all the adults that work here will go out of their way to help the children. Holland, to me, is a school that really cares about every child.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
